For many stations, Rocket Broadcaster (free) will do the job nicely and is easy-to-configure. If you need immediate dropout reconnection, you should upgrade to PRO (one-off cost of $100~).
To get started, use the info in your SHOUTcast Internet Radio welcome email to configure Rocket Broadcaster.
You can download it here: https://www.oscillicious.com/rocketbroadcaster/free/rocketbroadcaster_setup.exe
Once you've configured your stream inside Broadcaster, make sure you Save the project so it persists after reboots.
Rocket is simple, easy-to-understand and reliable. It is a far cry better than using Winamp or many other methods.
Note: You will need to configure using SHOUTcast v1, not v2, in order for the free version to work continuously.
Remote Help: If we've already helped you get connected, your Rocket Broadcaster should be safe to leave as-is.
YP and Metadata - Make sure you configure Rocket Broadcaster to include your Station Name, Genre, etc, correctly.
These can be set inside Media Control Panel though your software runs the connection and can over-ride MediaCP.
Playing and Relaying - These are 2 different things. Beyond the Rocket Broadcaster, you need to have a media feed.
This could be in an Audio Player as simple as iTunes, or you may have a line-in via audio card from your terrestrial feed.
Please ensure your configuration aligns accordingly, and that you configure track info pass-through if your software supports.
Does your station have a dodgy internet connection? Occasional drop-outs? You'd enjoy auto-reconnect.
To get immediate re-connection, you will need to pay $100~ for the PRO version of Rocket Broadcaster.
Information about Pro and upgrading is available online: https://www.rocketbroadcaster.com/pro
